After more than a year without a leader, the Catholic Diocese of El Paso has chosen their new bishop. On Monday morning, Pope Francis will announce his name to the entire Catholic Church.

The El Paso Diocese has been without a leader since last February when Pope Benedict XVI transferred Bishop Armando X. Ochoa to Fresno, California after 15 years in El Paso.

Since then, Ochoa has been serving as the apostolic administrator of the diocese.

Pope Francis will make his announcement at noon Monday which is 4 a.m. mountain time.

Then, Bishop Ochoa will introduce the new bishop at Martyrs of the Americas Hall at 10 a.m.
