LAS CRUCES — A man who was kicked out of a birthday party fired gunshots into the air prior to leaving the property, Las Cruces police said.
Daniel Golden, 26, was charged with one count each of negligent use of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The incident happened on the block of San Pedro Street. No injuries were reported but officers learned that Golden was upset because someone changed the music he was playing at the party. He became agitated and was asked to leave the residence. As he began to leave, Golden pulled out a 9 mm handgun and fired several shots into the air.
Golden was located by officers and taken into custody. Because he violated terms of his probation, Golden is being held without bond at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
