LAS CRUCES – New Mexico State Police continue to investigate the Interstate 10 crash that took place last Wednesday, when an 18-year-old woman driving eastbound crashed into a tractor-trailer that was going in the opposite direction.

Police believe the incident was a suicide attempt. The woman, who has been identified as Brittany Alexandra Smith, may face charges.

Smith was a student at New Mexico State University. A school official said she has since been withdrawn from NMSU.
