Police seek suspect in Irvin HS teacher attack
EL PASO, TX (KTSM) — Police were on the lookout for a man who they said attacked an Irvin High school teacher on campus last Friday.
Police say it all started when two students got into an argument. Things escalated when one of the students called his older brother, 21-year-old Assad Taylor. Taylor and a friend then showed up on campus to beat up the other student.
A teacher, Gordon Wofford, refused to let them into the classroom. That's when Taylor allegedly punched the English teacher in the face. A warrant was issued for Taylor's arrest.
Police said he'll face felony charges of injury to the elderly because Mr. Wofford is 66-years-old. He suffered serious bruises to his face but is now back in the classroom.
