Police need your help catching a thief that stole a car out of a store parking lot in broad daylight.

It happened at the Walmart on Gateway West near Cielo Vista Mall on July 6. The woman was dropped off in a Chevy Avalanche at the front of the store's garden center. She's then spotted putting a baseball cap on and walks towards a Lincoln Towncar parked in the lot.

"Once she approaches that vehicle, she manages to get into the vehicle and is seen driving off in the car. Now, this woman is also believed to be responsible for some other auto thefts," said Javier Sambrano.

Here's another look at the brunette. She's seen wearing a gray top with blue jeans.

If you know who she may be or know her whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 566-TIPS.

If you've given your car key to anyone that serviced your car, valet or window tinting, they have your home address and can have a copy of your key.

The only thing that will slow them down at this point is to use a steering wheel Club or other steering lock with a seperate key that was never given out.
Every place/person that does auto service also has "cousins" in town that would like a copy of your car key and home address.

If you leave your car anywhere to be serviced, even for a few minutes,
oil change, tune up, window tinting, wash and wax, parking attendant parking in downtown, car valet, anything, they can make a copy of your car key and they already have your home address on the form you just filled out. So, all they need to do is watch your house, follow you to any mall or any shopping center, once you are out of sight, send in the girl with the extra key and, its gone in 6 seconds.
