Police are looking for a man who they believe may be a child predator on the loose. 

On Monday, June 25, police said a man asked a young girl if she wanted a ride home. When she said no, the man attempted to push her into his car, making it Crime Stoppers' “Crime of the Week.” 

It happened around 1:00 p.m. that afternoon, as a 15-year-old girl was walking home from school near Alameda and Padres. Police said The male suspect drove his vehicle across her path and made her stop. When she refused his ride offer, he got out of the vehicle and attempted to push her into the passenger side door, but the victim was able to get away and walk into a nearby business for safety.

The suspect in this case is described as an Hispanic man in his 30’s with dark hair and dark complexion, wearing a baseball cap, black t-shirt, and clear eye glasses. He had no facial hair. The vehicle he was driving was a white, 4-door compact car, possibly with leather interior and a rosary hanging from the rear view mirror, according to the report.
