Police Search for 2nd Fraud Suspect in Sunland Park Voter Fraud Scandal

SUNLAND PARK, NM — Police were searching for one woman in connection to the Sunland Park voter fraud scandal.
Authorities were at the home of Mary Ann O'Brien with a search warrant however she wasn't home, Dona Ana district attorney Amy Orlando confirmed.
The library director Luz Vargas Trancoso and Mary Ann O'Brien are each charged with several counts of voter fraud. Luz Vargas was arrested earlier this afternoon at the Sunland Park Library.
Mary Ann O'Brien is charged on five 4th degree felonies ranging from false voting, conspiracy to and falsifying election documents
Luz Vargas is charged with sevev 4th degree felonies including coercion of voters and false voting.
According to documents obtained by News Channel 9, Vargas registered eight people to vote in January using the same address. This included including O'Brien, who lives in El Paso, not Sunland Park.
Vargas told O'Brien that it was ok to register in New Mexico.
