New Mexico State Police say speed caused an accident that killed a Las Cruces teen over the weekend. Investigators say Jonathon Rios, 19, was traveling at 65 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone when he hit a pole. The crash happened on Quesenberry Road off Picacho Sunday afternoon. Rios died at the scene. Two teen passengers were taken to the hospital in serious condition. Investigators say they do not believe alcohol or dugs were factors in the crash.
