Police identified the three women injured in a wreck on Doniphan. Originally, Newschannel 9 received a report from Westside Regional Command that one of the women died from her injuries, but a police spokesperson confirmed she was alive in the hospital.

Desiree Skaf, 21, was the driver of a red Jetta that rear-ended a black Mazda driven to by Iris Bustamante, 27. Janet Balderama, 25 was a passenger in the Mazda, police said. The two-car accident happened around 3 a.m.

Crews took all three women to the hospital. Balderrama suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

Skaf left the scene of the accident and her car was found disabled on Montoya, about a half-mile away.

The investigation is ongoing.
