Police Officer Cited for Central El Paso Crash

EL PASO -- An El Paso police officer has been cited for failing to yield and causing a crash Friday morning in Central El Paso that sent a woman to the hospital, according to investigators on the scene.

The accident happened at 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of Copia and Bisbee.

Police say the officer rear ended another vehicle while responding to an emergency call.

The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

I think pedestrians need to watch where they're walking, as well. Without being distracted, as a driver, I have almost hit people because of their ignorance. I think the EPPD did make a big deal of it and he was cited for it. It's what the law requires. I was in a accident (other car's fault) this 51yrs old women w/an 11 yr. old in the front seat NO seatbelt and an expired driver's permit...you know what happened to her?? a ticket and that's all. I think that laws should be more harsh for this.

Since he is an officer it was not made such a big deal! Just made an exuse that he was lookin at his computer! they also need to watch thier driving I also have almost been hit by a police officer . They need to realize just because they are officers that they also need to comply with the laws and drive safe.Just because they are officers ,they can get away with ANYTHING.
