LAS CRUCES — A Las Cruces man is behind bars after he allegeldy threated to kill his girlfriend and young son Friday night, police said. 

Las Cruces police were called to Noel Campbell's apartment after they say he kicked his girlfriend out and threatened to kill their 18- month-old son.

Officers tried to make contact with campbell, but he refused to talk.

A SWT team finally raided the apartment and arrested the 28-year-old.

He was charged with child abuse and battery charges. The boy was not hurt.
