Police Investigate Shots Fired and Say Car Fire Could Be Arson

EL PASO - Investigators responded to a call of shots fired and a reported car fire, that they say could be arson.   

It happened just before 3:00 a.m. Monday in the 3000 block of Idalia in Central El Paso.

According to emergency radio transmissions, someone fired gun shots at the van, then intentionally set it on fire.
The fire started in the van's engine compartment while it was parked in front of a home.  Flames charred the front hood and passenger side.

Police say they also found bullet casings on the scene.
