Sister of Victim Speaks Exclusively to NewsChannel Nine
Early Sunday morning, police arrested 30 year-old Fortino Monclova Jr. for burglary after he repeatedly tried to collect $20 from a neighbor. Witnesses say he broke into a house on the 900 block of Agua Prieta and stabbed two people. We spoke with Melissa Ocana, the sister and friend of the victims, and she told us Monclava Junior was a friendly neighbor who had never caused trouble before. Ocana says her brother was hospitalized with twelve stab wounds, but is expected to make a full recovery; her friend, a female, was cut seven times and has been released from the hospital. Monclava Jr. has not been charged with aggravated assault for the stabbings, but Police are still investigating the incident to see if any further charges will be filed.
