A Las Cruces man is once again a free man after being arrested for allegedly downloading child pornography.

Michael Herber, 44, is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a child.

According to a Las Cruces Police computer forensics expert, 200 files containing child pornography were allegedly logged on a computer in his home between October 2012 and Jan. 8, 2013.

On June 12, 2013, a Las Cruces Police detective, computer forensics experts and agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant on Herber's home. They found numerous files of child pornography.

Herber was arrested Friday, June 14, and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with a cash-only bond set at $25,000.

He posted bail and was released from custody after his bond was reduced to $5,000.
