Police continue to investigate how a toddler died in the Lower Valley Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews attempted to resuscitate a two-year-old boy, but were unable to save him.

Neighbors are in shock that something so tragic happened in their neighborhood to a family that always kept to themselves.

"Mother’s Days tomorrow and that mother won't see that child. The situation makes me mad. It makes me sad. It's makes me so emotional,” said neighbor Richard Brown.

Neighbors say the little boy would often be seen playing in the yard.
Neighbors say the two-year-old was beaten to death by one of the male adults who live inside of the home, but The El Paso Police Department has not confirmed a cause of dead. Police are calling the toddler's death suspicious.

One neighbor doesn't want to be identified, but she says she didn't suspect anything was wrong.

"We didn't even know what was going on. I didn't hear the ambulance. I did not hear any commotion whatsoever. We were in the house. We were doing our thing. Cleaning, you know taking care of the kids. Whatever, getting our day going,” said the neighbor.
The neighbor says three adults and two children lived at the home, and the toddler had only lived there for the past two months.

"I don have the words to describe it because it happened so close to home. It's a shock to me. I wouldn't think something like that would happen here,” said the neighbor.
Police have not made any arrest, but the child’s death is still under investigation.
