Police Continue Search for Kidnapping Suspect
SOCORRO - The Socorro police department is still looking for a woman wanted in connection to a kidnapping.
Veronica Tarin Gomez is wanted for assault, kidnapping and theft, for an attack that happened back in June.
Socorro police said she and three others broke into a woman's house on Holstein, stole documents, and kidnapped the woman's baby.
Police believe she grabbed the victim by the hair and took her 2-month-old son.
"We have enough information from the victim and from one of the co-accomplices that does warrant the arrest of Tarin. We've always had her as a person of interest and have always wanted to talk to her and now we know why we want to talk to her,” said Socorro spokesman, David Garcia.
Meantime, Juan Carlos Martinez, 32, turned himself into Socorro police yesterday morning.
This is after Martinez, a Fort Hancock resident, was wanted for two months, in connection to the assault.
Authorities urge anyone who has seen Gomez, to contact police. She's considered to be armed and dangerous.
