EL PASO — A man suspected of stealing a cash register from the Charro Supermarket Sunday evening was arrested a short time later. 

According to the report, Justin Bukett entered the store located on Franklin and placed beer on the counter, as if to purchase the items. As the clerk rang up the sale, Burkett began pushing the keys on the register, forcing the clerk to back away and grabbed the register from the counter. He fled the store with the register however responding police units located him a short distance away.

Further investigation revealed Burkett was also responsible for a burglary ar the Steam E-Rock on Alameda earlier in the day. Investigators were able to recover property from the burglary and from the robbery. Burkett was charged with robbery, burglary of a building, and two outstanding municipal court warrants.
