Police arrest man in connection with westside restaurant robbery

EL PASO — UPDATE:
Police released the mugshot of Kosta Argeanas, 58, who is accused of robbing a West El Paso Village Inn at gunpoint on Saturday night.
According to investigators, Argeanas demanded cash from a woman who was working the register at the restaurant. The cashier told El Paso police that Argeanas pointed to a gun hidden beneath his belt. The woman gave him cash from the register, but said that Argeanas then reached over the counter to pull more cash from the register. The manager of the restaurant tried to stop Argeanas, but he drove away in a blue Volkswagen with New Mexico license plates.
Investigators looked at surveillance video from the restaurant and recognized Argeanas as someone who has been in trouble with the law before. Police drove to Argeanas' home a few blocks away where he was arrested.
Police arrested a man for allegedly robbing a Village Inn restaurant in West El Paso.
According to El Paso Police Spokesperson Darrel Petry, the suspect walked into the Village Inn on Mesa near South Desert Boulevard at 6:19 p.m. Saturday.
Petry said the man showed a gun and demanded cash. He got away with an unknown amount of money.
Officers found him a short time later.
He was arrested for aggravated robbery.
Petry said it is unclear if any customers were in the restaurant at the time. No one was injured.
