A gas pipeline has exploded in the small Central Texas town of Milford, which is about 50 miles south of Dallas.

Milford, which is in Ellis County just northeast of Hillsboro along Interstate 35 East, has a population of around 730, according to the 2010 National Census.

The reported explosion is near Farm-to-Market Road 308 and U.S. Highway 77. The pipeline was being worked on when it exploded, reports NBC 5 in Dallas. Officials are reporting from Milford back toward Italy and Maypearl is being evacuated due to a second pipeline being in danger.

Students at Milford ISD were moved to Italy ISD.

Injuries are unknown at this time but KETK will update as information becomes available.

This comes seven months after the explosion of a fertilizer plant is West, Texas, devastated the small town just outside of Waco.
