The son of a woman who was murdered while protesting against the Mexican government is continuing his protest at the Mexican Consulate here in El Paso.

Juan Manuel Escobedo's sister, Rubi, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend.

He even confessed to the crime, but was never punished.

Escobedo's mother began protesting Rubi's death and she was murdered outside the governor's office in Chihuahua.

Now, Escobedo is filing a petition through the consulate to seek justice for his family.

"Probably today or tomorrow morning this letter is going to be turned in to the consulate, but we're going to keep on pressuring," Escobedo said.

Escobedo says the only way his petition will reach the Mexican federal and state government is through the Mexican Consulate and he plans on visiting several consulates throughout Texas.
