If you're thinking of getting a pet this holiday season, you can save some money by heading to the animal shelter in Northeast El Paso.

The City of El Paso Animal Services Division wants to find loving homes for many shelter pets, so now through Christmas Eve adoptions are 50% off as part of the shelter's Home for the Holidays campaign.

Home for Holidays begins December 10 and will run through December 24.

During this period, all dog and cat adoptions at the city's Animal Shelter will be $60.

The adoption fee includes spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip and registration.

There are more than 200 animals that need homes, so if you're interested, head over to the shelter at 5001 Fred Wilson.

Hours are Monday through Saturday 10:30a.m. to 6p.m.

The shelter will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

For more information, visit the shelter or call the Animal Services Division at (915) 842-1000.
