Pedestrian struck, killed in late-night crash


Police have revealed that the pedestrian killed while crossing Zaragosa overnight Saturday is a 62-year-old man. His name has not yet been released.

According to police, the 32-year-old driver left the scene before officers arrived, but later reported the crash to Pebble Hills Regional Command.

The driver, whose name also wasn't released, was booked into the El Paso County Detention Center with a $50,000 bond. He faces ne count of Accident Involving Death.

This is the 34th traffic-related death of the year.

A pedestrian has died following a hit-and-run crash in east El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department.

Special Traffic Investigators responded to Vista Del Sol and Zaragosa just after 1 a.m. Saturday.

Police have identified the driver and vehicle, but have yet to release any names.
