UPDATE: 75 year-old man dead after being hit by a car in West El Paso

El Paso, TX (KTSM) — UPDATE: A 75 year-old man was hit and killed by a vehicle as he crossed the street on the 5300 block of Mesa near Paragon and Festival at about 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
According to the El Paso Police Department, Anselmo Muñiz was not crossing at a crosswalk when the incident happened.
Police say the vehicle that hit Muñiz, a 2008 Mercury Mariner that immediately stopped and the driver, 66 year-old Billy Kelly, remained at the scene.
Investigators do not believe any charges will be filed against Kelly at this time.
This is the 13th pedestrian death in El Paso this year.
El Paso Police confirmed that the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in West El Paso Friday evening has died.
Officials said it happened at about 9:53pm on Friday on the 5300 block of Mesa near Paragon and Festival.
Paramedics then rushed the pedestrian to University Medical Center.
Mesa is still closed from Paragon to Festival as Special Traffic Investigators remain on the scene.
