Pedestrian killed on I-10 was running away from previous crash
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — El Paso police identified the man killed in Friday night's deadly pedestrian accident as Juan Marquez, 27, of East El Paso.
According to investigators, Marquez was involved in a car accident on Gateway East and the Americas exit and was running away from the scene, when he was hit and killed.
Marquez reportedly ran across Gateway East and onto the eastbound lanes of I-10 when he was hit by a 1999 Toyota pickup driven by Erick Tena, 19.
Marquez died at the scene.
Tena was not injured.
This is the 43rd traffic death this year, compared to 44 at this time.
