A total of 857 lbs. of marijuana were discovered concealed in a passenger bus entering the U.S. from Mexico at the Bridge of the Americas.

“The thorough and comprehensive inspections performed by CBP officers on all modes of transport generated this significant drug seizure,” said Hector Mancha, CBP El Paso Port Director. “Several layers of enforcement helped identify this large drug load.”

CBP drug sniffing dog “Gator” alerted to the bus. CBP officers then x-rayed the vehicle and noted anomalies in the appearance of the vehicle. CBP officers continued their exam and located non-factory compartments in the front wheel well area of the bus. CBP officers removed 754 marijuana-filled bundles from the compartments. No arrests were made and the investigation continues.
