Despite the gloomy weather, it was a fun, pool day for the pooches!

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation hosted their annual dog day swimming event.

The 2 day event started today at 10 a.m.. and lasted until 2p.m. this afternoon at the Nations Tobin Aquatic Center.
Its meant to give the dogs one last chance to show off their doggy paddling skills before the pool closes for the winter.
Plenty of agencies like the Animal Rescue League had dogs available for adoption and the Humane Society offered micro chipping. Dogs cost two dollars to participate and owners were free.
So who had the most fun?

"That's hard to say. I would have to say the dogs really enjoy the event. They don't get many events like this. They get to socialize with other dogs and so and get to enjoy the pool. They have a great time," said Stacey Wright with El Paso Parks and Recreation.

The event continues tomorrow from 10am to 2pm. If you plan on bringing your pooch to the pool, make sure you have proof of vaccination.

We were there today and it was great fun! I would like to thank the people that make this event possible. We will definitely be there tomorrow as well! People should just remember that dogs should be socialized with other dogs and people as this is an off-leash event.
