EL PASO — A 2-month-old infant was found dead while strapped in his car seat and left in a bedroom of his parents east side home, police said. The discovery was made the morning of Oct. 9 when the infant was found unresponsive.
An autopsy revealed baby Colton Soto died from positional asphyxia in an upside down position. Parents Lindsey Hradek, 21 and Bobby Soto, 27 were both residents of the home on Edgemere and were arrested on charges of injury to a child.
Investigators said both parents had used cocaine prior to Colton's death and disregarded warning labels affixed to the car seat about placing on unstable surfaces and leaving a child unattended.
They were booked Nov. 16 into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
