ABQ man arrested; keys were left in vehicle

An Albuquerque man was arrested and charged with theft of vehicle after driving away with a Chevy pickup Monday morning.

According to El Paso Police, a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck had been parked along the 1200 block of Texas, with the keys left inside the vehicle.  Officers say 24-year-old  Luis Burgos-Garcia allegedly entered the vehicle and drove off.

The owner then called police and a report was filed. Shortly after 1pm Monday, EPPD officials said  the owner saw the stolen vehicle on I-10 West, near Executive Center.

EPPD patrol units located the truck and Burgos-Garcia a short distance later. Burgos-Garcia was placed under arrest and booked into the El Paso County jail.

The truck was returned to the owner.
