Congressman Beto O'Rourke has been appointed to the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs.

"With more than 70,000 veterans who call El Paso home, I am humbled by the opportunity to fight for better service and improved accountability for these local heroes," said O'Rourke.

O'Rourke says he plans on initiating improvements with the current VA system and working to bridge the gap for veterans' services that are currently lacking or not being provided.

Man oh man, our newly elected congrtessman sure has a distorted view of politics in the beltway but also about his own abilities. I read where he attended a reception in Washington D.C. & he was impressed that two, TWO, republicans approached him and told him that they don't care about partisan politics, and Beto apparently believed them! Man oh man is Beto in for a very big surprise. I also read where Beto gave himeself not one but 2 parties in D.C., on the day of his swearing in. Man oh man.
