Oklahoma man handcrafts Christmas ornaments.

A retired Oklahoma mechanic has found a second calling as a maker of fine Christmas ornaments.

Bruce Nixon is so practiced on a scroll saw you'd think he'd spent a lifetime cutting out intricate designs.

A few years back you would have found bruce in a much different shop, fixing trucks and large engines, as deep in grease as he is in fine sawdust now.

Never one to idle for long, Bruce started his retirement with a small block of very clean wood.

He made a reindeer, some rabbits and then he made a reindeer with a sleigh.

Eventually he started making christmas ornaments and something clicked.

The grease beneath the fingernails sanded off and pretty soon it was Christmas every day.

Bruce makes new designs every year.

There are more than 80 now and counting.

He and his wife built a big workshop and go to craft shows and sell ornaments.

It's a big switch from the lonely garages where bruce used to work, and he likes it that way.
