Orchestra of Hope in Juarez
JUAREZ - A youth orchestra is trying to bring hope to students in one of the world's most violent cities.
Drug gangs murder a dozen people a day in Juarez.
Alma Rosa Gonzalez is helping poor children learn classical music, giving them an outlet that might stop them from falling prey to gangsters terrorizing the city.
Gonzalez started the program in 2005 and has helped more than 400 children, despite threats from drug gangs.
More than 7,200 people have died in drug violence in and around Juarez since early 2008 when drug cartels started a turf war over smuggling routes into the U.S.
