Operation Hope hosts backpack giveaway
El Paso, TEXAS (KTSM) — Summer is coming to an end and school is just around the corner, which means it's time for back-to-school shopping.
Saturday, Operation Hope lent a helping hand to those that need it with a school supply giveaway.
The organization gave backpacks and shoes to children from La Posada and Reynolds House.
Local media outlets dressed up in superhero outfits and baseball players part of the coming Triple A team, all helped pass out these school supplies to the kids at Peter Piper Pizza on the eastside.
"It's a great way to help get the kids jump started for school. We're helping out the parents with shoes for the kids and the backpacks. They have everything from rulers to loose leaf paper. Everything that they might need," said Angel Gomez, with Operation Hope.
