One person dead, three injured in Hudspeth County semi crash

Hudspeth County, TX (KTSM) — UPDATE: Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the man who died in a crash on I-10 in Hudspeth County early Monday morning as 48-year-old Salvador Lozano Delgado. His passenger, 38-year-old Manuel Victor Vargas, was air-lifted to University Medical Center in El Paso where he is currently listed in critical condition.
One person is dead and three others were injured in a violent three vehicle crash on I-10 just east of Sierra Blanca early Monday morning.
Texas Highway Patrol says that a white pick-up truck towing a utility trailer was on the right shoulder of I-10 west attempting to enter back onto I-10 when a yellow semi-truck driven by Alvin Lamberty, 31, of Killeen,TX struck the truck from behind causing it to jack-knife into both east and west lanes of I-10.
As the white pick-up was jack-knifed, it was struck head-on by a white tractor semi-truck driven by Mark Moore, 55, of San Antonio.
Investigators say that the unidentified driver of the white pick-up truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The pick-up truck's passenger was air-lifted to University Medical Center in El Paso with life-threatening injuries.
Moore was also transported to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. TxDPS says that Lamberty was transported to Del Sol Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. A fifth person, Issac Elder, of Waco, TX who was sleeping in the camper of the yellow semi-truck was not injured in the crash.
TxDPS is still investigating the crash and will release the identities of the people in the white pick-up truck as soon as their families have been notified.
