A Socorro Police Spokesperson confirmed Paul Wayne Tims, 60, of Clint died after an accident at Horizon and Gateway East. The accident happened shortly after 9 p.m. Monday.

David Garcia of Socorro said a man who was driving a late model Chevy pickup truck failed to brake in time and went under the 18-wheeler.

Police say speed was a contributing factor.
