One man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Central El Paso. There were a handful of motorcycle crashes today and one of them turned deadly. The accident happened at around 10:20 this morning near the I-10 freeway between Raynolds and Chelsea. Police say 65 year old Craig Willis Vanauken was trying to enter the freeway from the on-ramp at the same time as a 2008 Volvo semi truck. Vanauken's 2009 blue Honda motorcycle then jumped the curb, collided with the semi, and Vanauken died at the scene. The truck driver, 48 year old Donald St. Antoine was later questioned by police.

It's important for all drivers to remember to stay safe. TX DOT recommends that motorcyclists always wear a helmet, ride at a safe speed, and take a course in motorcycle safety. Other drivers should keep an eye out for motorcycles and share the road.
