Longview, TX (KTSM) — UPDATED: A 22-year-old Longview man has been arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing at Good Shepherd Medical Center Tuesday morning. Kyron Templeton was arraigned on murder charges and four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Tuesday afternoon in Gregg County.
Templeton allegedly entered the Good Shepherd Ambulatory Surgical Center in Longview at approximately 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning and stabbed five people, including Nurse Gail Sandidge, who later died from her injuries.
Another employee is reported to be in critical condition while three additional stabbing victims are reported in good condition.
According to a search warrant obtained by NBC affiliate KETK, Detective Trevor Yates said one of the stabbing victims identified the suspect who stabbed her as a black man, wearing a blue shirt and gray sweatpants.
Templeton initially fled the scene of the stabbing, but Longview police were able to locate the man matching the description of the attacker in the nearby vicinity wearing a white tank top and carrying the blue shirt in his hand. Templeton allegedly told the Officer on the scene that "they" were trying to kill his mother.
Templeton is being charged with murder and his bond is currently set at $2 million dollars, with an additional $150,000 per aggravated assault charge
