He was just a little kid when his parents moved in.

Bob Bavinger didn't realize until much later that his house in Norman, Oklahoma was one of the most famous homes in America.

Designed by architect Bruce Goff and built over five years by Bob's father, Eugene, the Bavinger house is still striking, even in a state of disrepair.

It's built with stone from a quarry down the road.

The glass from an old slag heap in Henrietta.

The pole in the middle from an old oil field project.

With bedrooms suspended in air by cables.

Irregular shaped windows designed to bring the outside in and a goldfish pond built in to the living room floor.

Bob remembers the thousands of people who paid a dollar a piece to tour his house on weekends in the 50's.

The Bavinger house kept its allure even through a period of twelve years when it sat vacant.

Now, the last Bavinger alive who ever lived here would like to have the old place opened up again.

The house needs work.

To seal up windows and fix up dry rot.

But Bob says the home's structure is still quite sound.

As long as it takes to bring it all the way back, he'll stick with it.

Since it's considered to be a national treasure.
