EL PASO - Obesity rates have increased in more than half the state last year.

Mississippi is the fattest state in the country with 34 percent of its population clinically obese.

The obesity rate in Texas is 29 percent.

It is 26 percent in New Mexico.

Some El Paso restaurants are taking a healthy approach by giving customers a choice of steamed food as opposed to fried.
