NTSB: Pilot advised against take-off prior to crash
ANGEL FIRE, NM — Federal investigators have released a preliminary report abouit a plane crash that killed four people in Northern New Mexico. It happened earlier this month in Angel Fire. The pilot, 33 year-old John Verhalen, his girlfriend, 26 year-old Jennifer Woodward, his sister 41 year-old Sara Verhalen, and her daughter, 13 year old Chloe Jameson all died in the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board now says Verhalen was warned against taking off in the 55 mile per hour winds. The plane crashed moments after take-off.
