NMSU's Tyrone Watson pleaded not guilty to aggravated battery

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — New Mexico State University basketball player Tyrone Watson was arraigned Thursday on aggravated battery charges but did not appear in court.
Watson, 22, filed a waiver to appear for his arraignment and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Watson was charged with with a third-degree felony count of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm for allegedly grabbing 19-year-old Miguel Rascon by the neck and hitting him at least once, according to Las Cruces Police.
