Las Cruces, N.M. —
Newschannel 9 has received reports from a fight last Friday night involving NMSU basketball player Tyrone Watson.
Reports are that 19 year-old NMSU student Miguel Rascon was choked, blacked out, and was taken to the hospital.
NMSU senior forward Tyrone Watson is listed as the only suspect, with four witnesses listed on the report.
One of those witnesses tells NC9 Watson grabbed Rascon by the neck and threw him on the ground and "stomped on his head multiple times" after Watson thought Rascon was flirting with a girl he was with. A family member tells NC9 Rascon has facial fractures, 10 stitches, and a broken nose. He went back to the hospital Monday night after having difficulty breathing. The victim did not want to press charges as of Friday night, but that family member says he has filed a criminal complaint with NMSU
