It's not as delicious as eating a pure chocolate bar but it sure does sound sweet, popping a chocolate pill for good health. Take chocolate minus the fat and sugar and pack all the nutrients into one, that's what researchers are doing in hopes that a chocolate pill could bring your heart some health benefits.

Researchers at hospitals in Boston and Seattle will give chocolate pills packed with cocoa bean compounds, called flavanols to 18 thousand people for four years. They believe flavanols found in dark chocolate can lower the risk of heart attacks and strokes because they have been found to improve blood pressure, cholesterol, insulin regulation and other cardiovascular issues.

This study is sponsored by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, but to note, it's also sponsored by Mars, the maker of some chocolates like Snickers and M&M's.
