NEW MEXICO - A new free mobile service can help pregnant women and new mothers in New Mexico get health information during their pregnancy and for the first year of their baby’s life.

The service, called text4baby, will send free text messages that are critical to maternal and child health.

“The text4baby service is a wonderful opportunity for women in New Mexico to get free health information that can help them stay healthy during pregnancy and during the critical first year of their baby’s life,” said Dr. Elizabeth Matthews, medical director of the New Mexico Department of Health’s Family Health Bureau.

Women can sign up for the service by texting BABY for the English version or BEBE for the Spanish version to 511411.

The text4baby program is a service of the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition.
