EL PASO - UTEP and the Consul General of Mexico have announced $20,000 in additional scholarship money for Mexican students.

The scholarship money will benefit adult Mexican students attending adult education programs and universities nationwide. Each student can receive up to $5,000 annually. There will be a check presentation today at 11 a.m. in the Geological Sciences building on campus.

"We are delighted to have yet another opportunity to partner with the Consulate General of Mexico in El Paso to create opportunities for residents of the Paso del Norte region," UTEP President Diana Natalicio said in a statement. "These new scholarships will provide much needed financial support for talented and highly motivated Mexican students to achieve their goal of earning a degree at UTEP."

So the mexican goverment can help with tuition reimbursement of 5k annually to college level students.

What about reimbursing EPISD/YSID for the students they carry from across the border?

Or how about the Consul of Mexico reimburse the hospitals for all the free medical care they give to anyone from across the border.

Can't just pick and choose anymore. U.S. put your foot down and demand payment from the Consul.
