New Playground Construction Seeks More Volunteers
EL PASO — A new playground will be built March 21-25 by more than 750 volunteers and local businesses at 600 Montana Ave. near Ochoa Street. The playground will benefit at risk neighborhood youth that participate in the launch pad organization and St. Clement’s Parish School students.
Children from St. Clement’s Parish school brainstormed with playground designer John Dean of Leathers and Associates of Ithaca, NY, sharing their visions of a dream playground. CF Jordan is donating the construction equipment and supplies and together with community volunteers will help bring the new playground to life.
There is still time to sign up to volunteer.
“The St. Clement’s children have designed an incredibly unique creation, and have worked tirelessly raising money for the playground that represents their dreams and desires, and one that represents El Paso’s history in a fun and whimsical way,” Co-chair Caroline North said. “We want to involve the entire community, and invite anyone to come out and help us build this wonderful playground.”
