El Paso - The El Paso man accused of killing his mother may have been involved in previous assault cases.

It's a story developed by our media partners at the El Paso Times.

Armando Durazo with the Times reports that David Marmolejo had a bond reduction hearing today. Drama unfolded when the prosecutors laid out their reason why the bail should remain at $1 million. They argued that David Marmolejo is a suspect in the sexual assaults of 9 prostitutes in Arizona.
They say Marmolejo was also questioned in the Phoenix Baseline Killings.
The defense told the magistrate that Marmolejo is no longer a suspect and that someone else was convicted.

Marmolejo is suspected because he has a brother who lives in Phoenix and David lived there for five years, when the crimes took place.
In addition, the prosecution said Marmolejo had been arrested on nine counts of sexual assault, four counts of robbery and four counts of kidnapping in Phoenix. But all those charges were dismissed. The reason those charges were dismissed was because the victims are now dead. The judge did reduce his bond to $500,000.
