Timberon, New Mexico - - - A wildfire is blazing away near Cloudcroft, New Mexico.

The Timberon fire as it's called is burning buildings and forcing evacuations.

Flames have scorched eight buildings including four homes. 20 people have been evacuated to a high school gym in Cloudcroft.

Firefighters are battling with air tankers and a helicopter.

The Otero County Sheriff's Office is investigating what started the wildfire.

It's far from ideal for the Timberon firefighters.

Temperatures reached 83 degrees. Humidity dropped to ten percent. A bad combination for any firefighter in the brush because hot and dry conditions only feed the flames.
