New Mexico horse racing is cleaning up it's act
LAS CRUCES- Governor Susana Martinez just signed a bill into law that will create a $700,000.00 fund to test all race horses for drugs.
Another new law also created tougher penalties for owners and trainers that injure a horse or break the state's racing rules. They could actually loose the value of the racing purse should the state find any horses that have been injected with something illegal.
The new law will also monitor banned horses from other states coming in to New Mexico to race.
