New Mexico Hispanic students best in nation for AP scores
LAS CRUCES, N.M. — A new report ranked Hispanic New Mexico advanced placement students as the best in the nation.
The report by the College Board shows 43 percent of AP high school graduates scored a three or higher on their exams.
The percentage according to the report is the highest in the country among Hispanic graduates.
Students are estimated to have earned almost 18,000 college credits totaling about $3.5 million.
Governor Susana Martinez is asking legislators for $2 million to provide more AP access to students.
