New Juarez mayor tackling city's budget problems
Cd. Juarez, Mexico (KTSM) — New Juárez mayor Enrique Serrano is tackling the city's budget problems head on. Serrano who took over mayoral duties just last week, cut cell phones privileges for city workers, and police officers aren't immune to the budgetary changes either.
Serrano announced if a Juárez police officer is involved in a crash, while in a police unit, the officer will have to pay for the cost of the accident and will be transferred to walk the downtown beat. Serrano is hopeful these and other measures will reduce the city's budget.
